We live our lives as if he is. So let’s take a deeper look to answer that question.
God.
All seeing.
All-knowing.
All powerful.
To the believer and non-believer, everyone is born with a measure of faith to be aware of God’s nature as this all-encompassing entity, even if we can’t comprehend or explain it.
It’s innate.
Alas, we apply this same spiritual logic when discussing the Devil. Take a look at this image:
What comes to mind upon initial examination?
For many, including this writer, it’s to suggest that Lucifer and Christ are arch-rivals on equal playing fields.
Many live as if Lucifer is similar to God or, comically, God’s equitable villain.
Lack of understanding of the Lord through the Bible leads to “why God?!” frustrations when the worst of life happens to us.
Then the blame game happens.
Why didn’t God stop it? Whatever it is.
As for Satan: the Devil made me do it.
We use the Devil as a scapegoat for our poor choices, bad behavior, and life happenings.
The Bible tells us that the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy, with many believing the thief to be Lucifer.
But the question is, how is he doing so?
Is Satan DC’s The Flash running at light speed to every human entity on the planet, personally making house calls executing his will?
OR is he even here at all?
If the answer to this question is no, then where is he in 2022?
The research, connections, and questions in this essay (and video) do not aim for absolute dogma but challenge what we currently know to discover the truth.
Allow the Holy Ghost to guide you on the information to keep and discard “studying to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) as we explore together to answer the question:
Is Lucifer Omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscience?
Omnipresent (Eyes are Everywhere)
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” – Proverbs 15:3
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole Earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.” – 2 Chronicles 16:9
These scriptures declare God’s omnipresence whether you’re secluded on an island as a hermit or deeply buried 20,000 leagues under the sea.
The truth is God. Sees. Everything.
In Isaiah 14:13-14, Lucifer, son of the morning, announces his mission statement:
“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
Throughout history and today, we see Satan imitate God on
But the question is Lucifer Omni present? Is the tagline, “the Devil made me do it,” a valid excuse to validate your actions?
Entertainment media has created this narrative for a long time that the Devil is merely God’s foe being on equal footing with the Most High.
But the Bible tells us that any one of us can be an enemy of the Lord. And when we’re born, we are as we are sharpened in iniquity and sin.
When Lucifer decided to trick Eve into causing Adam to sin, he became an enemy of the Lord, but he didn’t start that way.
According to Ezekiel 33, Lucifer was “the anointed cherub” adorned with the most beautiful gems and splendor.
But since his spiritual crime, he is reduced to a shell of his former self, facing a fate that reflects his fall from grace.
But do not get it misconstrued. Satan is still a powerful spiritual force that should not be underestimated. Though he is not in the expected form that pop culture paints him to be.
Is he on your shoulder whispering that you should do something horrible, or is it something else?
Is the Devil have cosmic access to all Earth inhabitants causing them to sin in the blink of an eye?
There is a scenario of scripture that shows us how Satan accurately moves about the Earth. Let’s look at the Devil’s meeting with God In Job 2:1-2:
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the Earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Let’s examine the word “whence.” Why would this be important? Is whence an old English term for “when”? The answer is no. To interpret this word as “when” indicates to the reader that Satan is a time traveler, having the ability to be outside of time and space or at least able to manipulate it.
According to the King James dictionary, whence is a word that means “from where.” See the diagram below:
“When” is a preposition regarding time. But “Where” is a preposition regarding location.
Assuming Satan could move up and down throughout time and space in a “time travel” sense would be a fallacy.
Next, look at “going to and fro in the earth.” Notice that scripture does not say “on.” We mustn’t read “in” and confuse it for meaning “on.” We will touch more on this.
“Going to” has an interesting interlinear concordance connection. Going to can also mean simply traveling along land and sea as well — go to = rowing, marining, etc.
What is “fro”? Is that shorthand or biblical slang for “from”? Lord forbid!
Jokes aside, that’s precisely what “fro” is. According to the KJ dictionary, fro is a prefix in different languages but indicates it is from, back, or backward.
It signifies Satan was having dimensional transversal between worlds as he appeared before God doing what he does best: accusing the brethren (Revelation 12:10).
However, this movement is not God-level presence. Lucifer covers more ground than the human eye can detect but still falls heavily short of “the eyes of God are everywhere.”
Lucifer has infiltrated the hearts of humans in positions of power and secret authorities to mimic God’s infinite capabilities, as exemplified in the symbolism of the “all seeing eye” associated with Luciferian influence.
Omnipotent (All-Powerful)
In Billy Graham’s book, Angels: God’s Secret Agents, the late pastor states bluntly about angelic beings:
“Angels enjoy far greater power than men, but they are not omnipotent or “all powerful.”
From the sub section, “The Power of Angels”, Pastor Billy Graham, 1975
What is the definition of all-powerful? According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, it’s defined as “having complete or sole power.”
This definition is actualized in Job 38:1-15. Job’s calamity causes a lapse in faith, resulting in a moment of weakness. This pushes Job to question God, provoking the Lord to respond in anguish :
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who [is] this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the Earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb?
9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
10 And brake up for it my decreed [place], and set bars and doors,
11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; [and] caused the dayspring to know his place;
13 That it might take hold of the ends of the Earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
14 It is turned as clay [to] the seal; and they stand as a garment.
15 And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
Only a fraction of God’s might and ability is declared by the Lord Himself in these 15 remaining verses in this chapter.
The question is can Lucifer do these things? He claims he can give people the world’s kingdoms despite “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”(Psalm 24:1).
However, Paul illustrates a celestial ability with Lucifer (14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.) that also resides with other angels as well (Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:15 KJV).
The Devil’s power lies in his sphere of dark influence, which involves tools of deception and distortions:
Ye are of your father the Devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. – John 8:44
In Ezekiel 28:12-19 we find a fascinating account of Lucifer’s origin as the prophet Ezekiel is a vessel for the Word of the Lord addressing the anti-Christ spirit in the King of Tyre directly:
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the Earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more.
From this account, we can see The Devil is a created being by God, essentially, an angel of the highest form. Yet if we dive deeper, it can be seen the sins of the Devil grieves the heart of God as all creations of the Lord are precious. Despite our perceptions of Satan, God poured creativity into Lucifer that was not done with other angelic beings.
Regardless of the once-anointed cherub’s beauty, he would never have the one thing that makes humanity special: the image and likeness of God Himself.
The beginning of Lucifer’s hatred and jealousy for humanity begins here. After observing mankind’s creation, the Devil made great efforts to usurp man’s authority dating back to Eve’s deception to assuming anti-Christ roles as seen in the king of Tyre and Nimrod.
Yet in Genesis 3:2-3, the woman recites God’s command to the serpent illustrating that one of the two things happened:
- Adam shared the first commandment-Word of the Lord, with Eve at some point
- Eve innately came equipped with knowledge of the commandment because Adam had received instruction from the Lord before Eve was conceived
In the beginning, God officially authorized Adam over the Earth:
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him” (Genesis 2:15; 19-20).
David, noted to be after God’s own heart, reaffirms that same dominion over the Earth in the following scripture:
“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, [and whatsoever] passeth through the paths of the seas.” (Psalms 8:6-8 KJV)
Lucifer’s power is restricted to leveraging what already belongs to man. To accomplish his will on Earth, the Devil has to usurp man’s authority by deceiving the world into believing dominion was never ours.
Satan is a charlatan who sees, believes, and knows the rights given to man wanting what we have at all costs. He can’t kill or steal without influencing humans to do his will. So he scratches itching ears into believing power and authority remain his alone, causing us to forfeit our rights with little to no resistance.
Today, we constantly see Lucifer’s influence of perverting God’s order utilizing the lie of “strength in independence,” appealing to the woman’s hidden desire for constant headship.
David Guzik in BlueLetterBible.org provides commentary quoting Susan Figoh in Genesis chapter three regarding sin corrupting Eve’s desire (and God’s will to keep it under control):
i. This same word for desire is used in Genesis 4:7 of the desire of sin to master over Cain. Because of the curse, Eve would have to fight a desire to master her husband, a desire that works against God’s ordained order for the home. – David Guzik
iii. “As a result of the fall, man no longer rules easily; he must fight from his headship. Sin has corrupted both the willing submission of the wife and the loving headship of the husband. The woman’s desire is to control her husband (to usurp his divinely appointed headship), and he must master her, if he can. So the rule of love founded in paradise is replaced by struggle, tyranny and domination.” (Susan T. Foh, cited in Boice)
Our cultural climate provides critical evidence of subversion and perversion of God’s position order, causing a war between genders for superiority. For example, the media illustrates men as clumsy doofuses who cannot do anything of themselves without the iron fist of women ruling over them. As a response, men’s groups have risen, for better or worst, to restore women to an archaic vision of the 1950s housewife.
Independence is a temporary position as the Bible makes it clear on numerous occasions that “it’s not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18 and Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) unless a gift of singleness is anointed upon select Individuals such as Paul, which is rare (1 Corinthians 7:7).
The Devil deceives and manipulates us into believing a lie resulting in action against us without directly laying one finger on us. If he wants something done, he has to deceive humans (as seen in Genesis 6) and other angelic beings.
Paul writes to the Ephesians (Eph 2:2) how they walked “according to the prince of the power of the air,” which many biblical scholars identify as Lucifer. Even so, he’s no king. When born, we carry the mark of sin, our spiritual DNA (Psalm 51:5). To re-write or re-map our spiritual genetic code, Jesus Christ’s free gift must be accepted so God sees the genetic code of His son rather than ours.
Lucifer is a spiritual son of God as were many fallen angels (Genesis 6:2). Jesus Christ is the ONLY begotten (born of a woman, God in the flesh), Son of God, without equal. He is THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS! (Revelation 17:14)
Omniscient (All-Knowing)
Referring back to Angels: God’s Secret Agents, in a sub-section titled “The Knowledge of Angels,” Billy Graham details how God’s creations, humanity, and angels, compare to each other:
“Angels excel humankind in their knowledge. When King Solomon was being urged to bring Absalom back to Jerusalem, Joab asked a woman of Tekoah to talk to the king. She said: “My lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth” (II Samuel 14:20). And angels possess knowledge that men do not have. But however vast is their knowledge, we can be sure they are not omniscient. They do not know everything. They are not like God.”
We can confidently embrace this fact: the devil does not possess omniscience, but he would like us to believe so. We must always return to his original mission statement: “I will be like the Most High.” All his pursuits hang in the balance of this goal. Lucifer counterfeits every characteristic and aspect that makes God “God,” having no qualms about using mankind to feign an all-knowing ability.
Proverbs 15:3 states that the eyes of the Lord are everywhere.
In our time, Lucifer has usurped (convinced to hand over) man’s dominion for him to take the reins creating systems and methods through technological means, creating an artificial all-seeing eye. It is an ongoing system to completely monitor the thoughts, actions, emotions, and mannerisms of all people.
Despite advancements, our tech is still premature, making its way from outside the temple of God to the inside, which is man’s physical body. When technology goes from smartphones, and wearable tech, to implantables, neuralink, and soon the bloodstream, the mark of sin will come to the full realization as the Mark of the Beast.
And we will welcome it to our detriment.
In the spiritual realm, Lucifer deceived many angels to do his bidding. When the sons of God and human women gave birth to Nephilim, it was the Devil’s intent to corrupt the image of God (genetically and supernaturally) held in man. Once the Nephilim were eradicated by the flood, they became disembodied spirits who were never meant to exist. Today, they are searching constantly for a new body hence New Testament stories such as “the unclean spirit and the pigs”(Mattew 8:28-34).
There have been cases of demonic possession adapted by Hollywood depicted in horror films and Disney cartoons. Many people’s introduction to these things is through these mediums, not a biblical account which is unfortunate because the greater truth is missed.
The Bible talks about familiar spirits; representations show them as entities tracking and recording a person’s every moment. When that person dies, these spirits will assume the person’s form creating the illusion that the deceased is still among the living, waiting to contact close loved ones as part of the great deception. It’s another way to delude the living from seeking answers from the Creator who made them.
The Conclusion of the Matter
“The devil made me do it,” is a fraught excuse we have leaned on for too long, as if all autonomy has abandoned us. Understanding the Devil’s limitations will help you take power back in the responsibility and accountability you hold in your free will to make choices.
Terrible things have happened as a result of:
- Our sinful nature
- Our willingness to succumb to it
Believe what you will, but the Devil is not over your shoulder, whispering in your ear or inside your mind tempting you to do an evil deed. Scriptures such as James 4:7, “resist the devil and he will flee from you,” are taken out of context, causing many to think he is near every individual.
If the nature of a pig is to eat slop, then so it shall be. The nature of man is to sin, as stated in Psalm 51:5. We have Adam to thank for that. Our thoughts become wicked as a result of this. What enters into our minds is self-generated from the fallen image we hold.
It is only through Jesus Christ that man can be returned to his original state before Adam partook in the eating of the fruit. Accepting the Lord Jesus to be grafted into God’s kingdom and adopted into sonship is the only way to achieve that restoration and avoid God’s wrath at the final time of Judgement.
